i-95. and heavy traffic southbound 270 from frederick heading into gaithersburg this morning. >> thank you so much. i want to get right to some breaking news, this coming and out of north africa. >> the death toll continued to increase. four confirmed deaths following the attack on the u.s. consulate in benghazi, libya, and a reuters is reporting one of those killed was the u.s. ambassador to libya. what are you hearing this morning? >> good morning to you steve and cynne. the situation remains fluid. all we know at this moment there were two state department workers who were killed in the attached in benghazi libya. there was a large maag, they've moved into the u.s. consulate -- there was a large mob of that move into the consulate and outnumbered the libyan forces over there. yesterday in cairo egypt, there were anti-american demonstrators

who scaled the walls of the u.s. embassy and pulled down an american flag and a ripped to shreds. we are trying to nail down exactly who those two, workers were were killed but at this moment we know there were two people. >> all right, thanks so very much. we will continue to follow the situation as we are still hearing reports coming in from all over the world with a different media outlets this morning. >> thank you. we appreciate that. >> also a developing story -- a cause of death report due out on the husband of patricia cook. gary cook, a husband found dead in as well. patricia cook, his wife, was shot and killed by police six months ago. brianne carter light in culpeper trying to sort this one out. >> good morning to you. investigators trying to figure out exactly what led up to the death of 52-year-old gary cook. we do understand an autopsy will be performed and that could lead to new clues and answers for

investigators. we understand according to police his body was found by maintenance workers who were performing routine work inside his apartment yesterday. while the investigation is still very early, it does not appear foul play with a factor. just six months ago his wife patricia died after an altercation with a call pepper police officer. for moms, he has been searching for answers. many residents say for the past six months, it has been his beak focus. >> after the incident with his wife i saw less of him. >> he said everything was going ok but it was hard for him right now. >> back in may, he filed a lawsuit against the police department. we understand officer involved in the complaint is facing charges. investigators are still trying to figure out exactly what led up to his death. at this point they are saying they did not believe foul play was a factor. brianne carter, abc7 is.

>> thank you. one to check news in prince george's county. central high school students return to class there a day after somebody shot and killed 18-year-old marckel ross as he walked to school in capitol heights. john gonzalez is at the school with the very latest of the investigation which police say is still wide open. >> wide open. the family of this teenager said he walked to school every morning. this time he was half way to school when he was gunned down. police want to know if he was targeted. prince george's county police are intensifying their search, looking for the person or group responsible for the murder of capitol heights high school students marckel ross. the 18-year-old was shot while walking to central high school. >> he was a kind person that's all. very kind. >> he was found in his school uniform with his book bag. investigators say the cases wide open. no motive, leaves, or suspects.

his family could not understand why anyone would hurt him especially on a walk to school he did hundreds of times. >> he loved to dance. he was very athletic. he always made me feel better when something was wrong. >> the popular teenager aspired to work in the fashion industry and he ran track and loved to roller skate always the life of the party. >> had a bright . -- spirit, not only breaks to the but participated in our modeling team. >> he was walking on busy central ave. -- police are hoping somebody saw something unusual. >> thanks so much. police investigating the shooting of a 16-year-old boy in southeast d.c. it happened around 1:30 a.m. this morning the 200 block of 37 streak. he was shot in the abdomen. he was conscious and breathing when paramedics arrived. no word on his condition or any possible suspects.

police in woodbridge, virginia, searching for two men who burst into a man's home and stabbed him. this happened around 10:00 p.m. the victim have to be airlifted to the hospital. his condition is not known. investigators believe he actually knew his attackers and they say the public at this point is not in danger. the presidential candidates will be back on the road a day after marking the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. president obama holding a rally in las vegas and that he will have to colorado. vice-president biden will speak to college students in ohio. ann romney will hold a rally in florida and his wife will be holding a separate rally in the sunshine state and paul ryan will be and of his home state wisconsin before heading to a lawyer. >> the first lady ann romney have campaign stops scheduled for va. michelle obama richmond, and university of mary washington and fredericksburg and then mitt

libya and also three other americans. this is the first time we are hearing that all four deaths in this incident are americans. we heard first that it was two -- employees, but now we hear from libyan officials that those killed included u.s. ambassador christopher stevens and three other americans. still a fluid situation. we will get you more details as they continue to roll land. >> a biker in colombia escaped serious injuries after an accident that was caught on tape. a police security camera captured the guy -- there you see it. the crash is right into a utility pole on his motorcycle. it flew off the bike on impact. but then somehow able to back away and take off before it burst into flames. >> my goodness. >> amazing he survived that. incredible. >> survived it and gets up and is able to survey the scene. we want to check in with adam

body of stevens in the street there in benghazi after the attack on tuesday night. it happened in an eastern libyan city. just to give you an idea of where this is located. reuters is saying the u.s. ambassador to libya and three other embassy staff were killed in this rocket attack. it appears at this point that stevens and the three others were fleeing the consulate when they were killed. i want to show you him once again. he has been working in and out of libya for about five years. he was appointed by president obama as ambassador to libya in may and he has been helping them transition after the fall of muammar gaddafi. it is all just developing now. we are still waiting to hear from the state department. but it is the very latest, we can confirm the united states ambassador to libya was killed in the rocket attack yesterday. >> thank you so much, renee.

i want to turn to a developing story in culpeper. we can learn today what led to the death of gary cook, whose body was found inside his apartment. you may remember six months ago his wife patricia was shot and killed by a police officer. briand carter it lie in culpeper but -- brianne carter is live in the cold upper. >> police are saying very little, other than they do not believe foul play was a factor. as you said, an autopsy is expected to be performed later today, which could lead to new clues in this case. 62-year-old gary cook whose wife was killed earlier this year was found dead inside his culpeper apartment tuesday. >> i was shocked. he was a hard-working man. >> maintenance workers performing routine work found his body. while the investigation is early, police say it does not appear foul play was a factor. six months ago his wife died
